Divination

Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge about the future or the unknown through supernatural, spiritual, or symbolic means. It has been part of many cultures throughout history and often involves interpreting signs, patterns, or messages believed to come from higher powers or hidden forces. Methods of divination vary widely and include practices such as tarot card reading, astrology, casting lots, crystal gazing, dream interpretation, and the use of spirit boards—commonly known as Ouija boards—where participants ask questions and interpret the movement of a planchette as messages from spirits. In ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and China, divination was often used to guide important decisions about politics, war, agriculture, and personal matters. Today, some people practice divination as part of spiritual or religious beliefs, while others view it as a cultural tradition or a symbolic tool for reflection rather than a literal way to predict the future.
